floyd-mayweather Floyd Mayweather Hints At Come Back; You Just Never Know Sport

Last night in Washington where one of his fighters, the super middleweight titleholder Badou Jack beat Lucian Bute, Mayweather revealed that he is being made offers by CBS and Showtime for a possible fight.

“Everyone is asking me, ‘Is Floyd Mayweather coming back?’” Mayweather said in an interview, noting, “Right now, I’m happy being on this side, but I’ve been talking with CBS and Showtime, and you just never know. But right now, I’m just happy on this side.”

And when asked what it would take to make him come out of retirement, the champ who beat Manny Pacquiao almost a year ago, said, “As of right now, some crazy numbers have been thrown my way — upwards, of course, of nine figures,” he told the Showtime interviewer. “But I’m truly blessed beyond belief, and I really don’t know what we’re going to do. But right now, I’m really happy being on this side helping our fighters.”

So, will he ever make a comeback?

The figures seem enticing, but ESPN reports that in March, the champ said there was ‘zero chance’ of him ever fighting again. His last fight with Andre Berto gave him a record of 49-0, tying him with Rocky Marciano. If he comes out of retirement and beats the next contender, he would hold world greatest record.

But Mayweather was sureabout retirement after the fight with Berto in September. “My career is over. It’s official,” he said, and last March, added,  “I was able to retire from the sport with all my faculties and not let the sport retire me,” he said.
